A video circulating on social media shows two young women arriving at a Starbucks on horseback to buy coffee. The unusual scene, recorded by an employee of the establishment, has caused astonishment and generated thousands of reactions on the internet.

The incident occurred at the Paseo San Miguel branch in Apodaca, Nuevo León, Mexico. In the clip, the two friends are seen with their horses in the drive-thru line, waiting to place their order.

Although the situation may seem unusual, some users commented that in that area it is common to see people on horseback, so they were not entirely surprised by the peculiar way of arriving at Starbucks.

Starbucks on Horseback

A few months ago, another similar video went viral in Mexico. In this case, the protagonist was Elena Larrea, owner of the horse sanctuary “Cuacolandia,” located in Atlixco, Puebla.

In the video, Elena shows up at the drive-thru on horseback and orders a “Chai” for herself and fruit for her equine companion. The Starbucks employees, surprised but delighted, even feed the animals while she waits for her order.

Elena Larrea, in addition to being an influencer, is a rescuer of horses that have been mistreated or are in poor conditions. Her humanitarian work has gained thousands of followers on social media, where she shares the story of the animals that arrive at her sanctuary.

The particular way these women arrived at Starbucks has not only generated memes and funny comments but has also helped to raise awareness of Elena’s work and her sanctuary “Cuacolandia,” a space that offers hope and a second chance to horses that have suffered.
